Some of our new books!


The wonderful Hurupaki School Fundraising group (some very dedicated mums!) applied for and got a grant last term for new picture books for our library.  Mrs Rahui has been very busy getting them all ready for you to be able to take out and enjoy.  Have a look at some of them in this slideshow.

Again! How to Draw a Dragon with Emily Gravett



This book is our book of the week in the library.  In this video the author and illustrator Emily Gravett will share with you how to draw her dragon.

The new cat by Joy Cowley



Joy Cowley is one of New Zealand's most famous authors.  You will all take home one of her books as you learn to read.  This video is made by children in Palmerston North reading one of her reading books - The New Cat. 

The quiz this week is on Pip the Penguin.  A beautiful picture book written by Joy Cowley and illustrated by Gavin Bishop.  Read it in the library and answer the question to win the prize!
